Modern Age - Branding project

For this assignment I wanted to create a simplistic logo for my fictitious modern furniture store, Modern Age. I explored different geometric shapes, as well as the use of color, and after many trials and errors with different logo application I chose a simple three diamond design. I stuck with black and white because I felt that it was minimal and sophisticated. I used an off white card stock to compliment the black and white identity. Being a modern furniture store, I felt that Modern Age would have a simple logo because the focus is more on the furniture rather than the store’s identity, and that was why I leaned towards a minimalistic design for the store’s branding and identity. I explored color within this logo but I felt that it took away from the design so I decided to stick with the black and white. When applying the logo to stationary, business cards, and hang tag I wanted to keep a simple feel and not overwhelm the design with extra graphics.
